Petition: Demand Epic Games Disclose the Official Fortnite Pirate Shop Token Odds
The Issue:
On November 1, Epic Games introduced the highly coveted Pirate Shop Token into Fortnite Battle Royale. This item grants players an unprecedented 28 days of free access to nearly every cosmetic item in the game—a prize valued at roughly $10,000 USD.
As a result, millions of players are grinding for hours daily, opening thousands of chests, and ending up completely empty-handed. Despite skyrocketing player retention numbers, Epic Games has refused to publish the official drop rates.
Why This Matters:
The gaming community is being subjected to extreme "FOMO" (Fear Of Missing Out) and predatory player-retention tactics. Community estimates place the drop rate anywhere from 1 in 10,000 to an astronomical 1 in 700,000. By keeping these odds secret, Epic Games is treating a game heavily played by children like a black-box lottery system. This lack of transparency has opened the door for black-market account scams, fraudulent cheat-selling tools, and immense player burnout.
